    3. Hi Jean and Karen A couple of sites with index databases for Ireland below. The first has Cavan birth records (I've found my family names there,) www.irishgenealogy.ie (free search) and the 2nd link covers other Ulster Counties, but not Cavan, www.emeraldancestors.com and both are definitely worth checking if you are looking in the areas they cover.
