    1. [IRL-CAVAN] Maguire/McGuire and Devlin
    2. Hi Folks, I have found a record on Scotland's People that is quite interesting but seems a bit far fetched. I am tapping into your greater wisdom and expertise. I have found a marriage for Terrence McGuire, parents Denis McGuire and Helen Brady, no location given and Mary Devlin, of County Cavan, father James, deceased and mother Maria Donoly. The marriage is registered in the Burgh of Dundee in County Forfar Scotland in the local Catholic Church on November 26, 1858. Witness was Philip Lynch and Hannah Clark From their son's marriage certificate I can verify that I am fairly sure that this is the set of parents that I am seeking. Their grandson was in my GGGrandparents household on the night of the 1901 Fermanagh census. I know that times were hard. Would they have travelled to the East Coast of Scotland for work? Perhaps there were more Irish working there? All comments and suggestions will be considered. Roy thank you for mentioning the idea of sharing information with others on certificates that we have that contain info not our own. Unfortunately the other bride and groom listed are from Tyrone so will post there. Actually seems I answered my own question if folks from Tyrone were there too. In further reading the second marriage on the same day I find a witness to the second marriage is Mary McGuire ( the recently married Mary Devlin??) same day, same church. Friends or relatives. Friends most likely as all are listed as "weavers." Janet
