Carolyn, I was initially ecstatic since my grgrandparents had been quite elusive(to me!). Finding the right record was exciting. Disappointment set in because I still didn't know the name of my grgrandmother's father, so I'm not sure where to look for her. All may not be lost for you yet. The document should have at least contained the name of the parish. That in all likelihood would have been the parish of the bride. You could try contacting the priest to see if there might have been more info in the register. You might also see if he can look for other potentially related records (baptisms or other marriages in the same time frame with similar name). If the parish is in the Diocese of Kilmore, you can find contact info here... http://www.kilmorediocese.ie/the-parishes. And has been pointed out to me, including a small donation to the priest is generally appreciated. Good luck, John -----Original Message----- From: irl-cavan-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:irl-cavan-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of CarolMay5@aol.com Sent: Thursday, July 09, 2009 3:19 AM To: irl-cavan@rootsweb.com Subject: [IRL-CAVAN] Thank You- Marriage Query Dear John and Diane, Thank you for your knowledge on this subject and your time.
