As he says, most confusions occur over spelling and how it changes being handed down. Also, for others new to this site (www.seanruad.com), remember that the way an English speaker says the word might be far different than the way an Irish speaker would say it. My grandfather lived in Ahoghill, which does not sound like A Hog Hill, but more, I am told, like "Howell". Lots of confusion for me if I go to Ireland and start asking around for "A Hog Hill", I'm sure! Nancy
