Knockbride OPRs were filmed beginning 1835. So the 1813 birth won't be found. The film contains : Baptisms, marriages and deaths, 1835-1860. Film #926133 I did find the 1838 marriage of John and Ellen, writing is really badly deteriorated but with knowledge of what it says, you can pick out the words. There were no parents, no residence or farmland name, but there are 2 witnesses. The text is in Latin which I studied way too long ago, but have seen enough latin texts like these to recognize some given names. The Birth in 1839 is likewise.....hardly readable and in Latin. There is actually more information in the entry, however its mostly illegible. I've made copies digitally and also with the copy machine set at differing darknesses. Can send them as digital images. They will arrive from a different eMail address, the default eMail on the machine where the pictures are held is different than mine but the server is the same. The subject line will identify them clearly. The microfilmed images ware done in the negative. More words seem to be legible if shot that way. I did the photocopies in the positive, so some are dark to see the center of the page, others much lighter to see into the shadowy margins where other words are. The Marriage entry reads : 1 March, 1838 In Mat'm Conjuxi Johanium Duffy et Elenoram Carrol coram Terentio? Duffy et Hugam Duffy Conjunxi is ' joined ' and Coram is ' in the presence of ' The name Terentio is extremely hard to decipher and may begin with an F....but Ferentio is just as puzzling. The birth entry of Catherine is even more deteriorated : 6 March 1839 B Cathrannam F Johannus Duffy et Elen--- Carroll Eug?----? [2-3 more illegible words run together into blackened margin]. The rest of the page is hard to read but ' Eug--- ' is not among the usual words, so I suspect its a name like Eugene though its unusual for Scotland. Perhaps its a witness or presenter of the child. Every entry had the ' F ' which I thought referred to the latin word for ' son '. However, both male and female infants had this letter immediately after their given name. I'll send the JPGs since you probably wish to look at the images. Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma USA =================
