    3. Hi Re Mr R. Jackson RIC Mahcross Tce Carrickmacross It is possible that Mr R Jackson was a member of the Royal Irish Constabulary Police(RIC) If this is the case then a sercive record can be obtained. If you have a subscription to ancestry ,the ROyal Irish Constabulary index is available. I have searched the index and found a WM R Jackson born in Co.Cavan who enlisted in 1878 aged 19 There are 30 other men with the surname Jackson from Cavan who were nembers of the RIC Mr Jim Herlihy in Cork Ireland has written 5 books on the RIC . Although the one you found on the list may not be the R Jackson I am looking for - I think the person is a Robert Jackson b 19 Sept 1869 who is likely to be a younger brother to the girls - you have given me some great ideas to follow up (and he may even be a cousin!). Maybe it will be through Robert I can find out more about his parents! Will check out Ancestry today. cheers Narelle
