    2. Just checking my understanding: Isn't Carrickmacross [that the locals call Carrick] in County Monaaghan, near the County Cavan border? Rosaleen, I believe that one of my g-grandfather's sisters married a SCANLON. I haven't looked at that twig in a while, but her surname was McKENNA, and her father was Thomas McKENNA, mother Alice MURRAY.
