There are two routes you could take to try to find the marriage (which would be easier than the births because later). According to the Griffith's index on failteromhat.com, Sullivan was not a common Cavan name in the 1850s. You could note the civil parishes, then see if any of those parishes also had McGuires, then get the church records (if there aren't too many parishes and you have patience) and look for the marriage. A faster but less reliable route is to use the Irish Family History Foundation site (less reliable because it doesn't include all church records). For the years 1843-1851 the index shows only one marriage of an Arthur McGuire in Cavan, in 1846. Unfortunately, it doesn't show a Bridget Sullivan marrying the same year, but still might be worth a look. You can pay on line by credit card, so fast and easy. Diane
Thanks Diane, I'll look up the parents now, as I have the marriage of Arthur and Bridget. I did have real problems with this family, Arthur married twice, both times to a Bridget, and then his son John married twice, both times to an Ann. I think they couldn't be bothered to remember a new name for the wife, so chose someone with the same name..
