Hello, I am looking for details of his birth, he was born 1840/41 in either Annagh or Redhill, of Catholic faith. He enlisted in the Cavan Militia and then transferred to the 10th foot [later the Lincolnshire Regt] discharged in 1881 and returned to Ireland - his address was given as Redhill, but returned to England before 1885. He settled in Lincoln, England and died there in 1897. He married Ann Mcguire I think sometime around 1872/74 but I have never found details of this either in Ireland or England.. During his return to Ireland my Grandmother Mary Kelly was born 1882/83 I have tried twice for a cert but with no luck. I have also contacted St Brigids Parochial Church at Redhill, but I understand their records do not go back before 1940. Some family think she was Born in Co Waterford, but this was a place along with Annagh and Redhill that I listed when trying for a birth cert. I realise that with Owen registratuion had not started, and will therefore be down to parish records. But regards his marriage cert & my grandmothers birth cert I thought I may have been able to find. If anyone can offer suggestions/ideas they would be very much appreciated. Regards pj
