Hi Hilda, Found this marriage for you; Alexander WEBSTER to Elspet LAING, 21 May 1836 Keig, Aberdeen, Scotland Webster to seems to fairly common surname in Aberdeen. Dave Blair
The 1841 Census for Killeshandra Parish was published by William G. Masterson of Indiana entitled COUNTY CAVAN, IRELAND, KILLESHANDRA PARISH, 1841 CENSUS A Transcription and Index (revised 2001). I purchased it directly from him. It has over 12,000 listings. Family Tree has the CD in a more limited edition. Dave Blair

Thankyou Dave, Can you come forward a little and see who was born after John age 3/12 in 1841. James wasn't born until (c) 1852. Also his mother's name is listed as Elizabeth. I guess Elespit would be interpreted as Elizabeth in modern times. Thank you, Hilda. Sydney NSW
TOP 'O THE MORN AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL Can someone please help me find information about:- James WEBSTER b. 1852 Killeshandra son of Alexander WEBSTER and Elizabeth ? This information is recorded on James's Death Certificate. Married Mary Murray in Presbyterian Church, City of Cork (c) 1881 Daughter Hannah Webster born 1882. Emmigrated to Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. (c) 1883 Son Alexander b. Hobart, Tasmania 1883 d. Newtown, Sydney NSW 1887 Son Peter b. Newtown, Sydney NSW 1887 d. Drummoyne, Sydney NSW1948. He was my father in law's father. Son James b. ? d. Newtown, Sydney NSW 1888 Son William b. Newtown, Sydney, NSW 1889 d. Newtown, Sydney, NSW 1889 James WEBSTER lived for 2 years in Hobart, Tasmania before arriving in Sydney NSW where he lived for 9 years until his death in 1894. He died age 42 years. He was a Saddler by trade and his father was a Farrier. (presumably in Ireland) We don't know very much about Mary Murray except that her name might possibly be Mary Frances Murray (as shown on Hannah's Death Record in Sydney, NSW Australia). And that Mary was disinherited by the family when she married James, a Presbyterian. We would also like to find out any information regarding James's parents Alexander and Elizabeth WEBSTER and Mary Murray's Parents. I know this is a tall order but any information would be gratefully appreciated. Hilda Cooper formerly Webster. Sydney Australia.

Hi Hilda, That would be difficult as no 1851 census survives for Co. Cavan. You would have to write for local parish records or to the County Cavan Genealogical Centre, Cana House, Cavan Town. Good luck in your search. Dave Blair

By clicking on the email address of the person researching the surname you have chosen, should then open an email with the subject line of the surname located in County Cavan. I don't know what kind of error message you would be getting. Then if the person you are sending the email message to no longer has that address, then you should receive a mailer daemon message back that the address is no longer viable for some reason. That is why I am sweeping the surname list, to remove addresses that no longer work. It's a long list and it takes quite some time to sweep the list. I am on AOL and AOL decides that you are spamming people when you try to send emails to too many addresses at one time. Then they turn off your account. Consequently, the sweep takes a while to get complete. Thanks. Denise
I personally was not offended by the intervention of our list administrator, Denise. I appreciated her explanation of how to check our names of interest on the list, and also how to send corrections to her. Both URLs were included in her message and it took only a few minutes for me to check my names and submit my corrections. Tamy in Nevada, USA ------------------ Thanks, Tamy. Denise

Dear Nancy, Thank you for bringing this point up. I am getting to the point of just deleting most of my digest messages because I have to keep reading the same things (including the rants) over and over and over again. I don't know anymore where the new messages are. Now after all this I am scared to ask a question. I guess it is a good thing that no one is ever looking for the same names as me.
