    3. I can remember Mrs Prendergast, I think my eldest sister used to "do" for them. I can remember running along a long narrow passage that led to the kitchen from a doorway in Cox's Lane. I was born in Cox's Lane and lived at the top end opposite where the water fountain was. It was a rat infested place. I was only 4 years old then, that was 1950. This brings back memories.
