From- avrilhogan@gmail.com. I am a member of the Hadden family and am currently researching the Haddens and Banks families in Wexford and Carlow. Both families were in the drapery business from the mid-1800s and were related through marriage. George and Frances Jane (Banks) Hadden started the family drapery business in Wexford in 1848, although I believe they took over a business formerly known as Banks & Fitzhenry. The Hadden drapery business opened a store in Dungarvan in 1906 and in Carlow in 1909. The Banks family also had drapery businesses in Kilkenny and Carlow. Any information, photos or memorabilia, particularly from the drapery perspective, would be very welcome.
