    3. The Nationalist and Leinster Times. March 1943. Mrs Mary Ellis. The death occurred on Sunday 14th March of Mrs Mary Ellis, Charlotte Street, Carlow, after a short illness. She was relict of William Ellis for many years foreman in the printing works of "The Nationalist and Leinster Times" Ltd. Deceased was of a quite and retiring disposition devoted to the interests of her family and she was held in great esteem not alone by her immediate neighbours but by a wide circle of friends. She was a member of an old and respectable Carlow family. A sincere and practical Catholic and a model head of a Catholic home, she had all the consolations of Holy Church in her last illness and passed to her reward fully resigned to God's Holy Will. The funeral to St Mary's Cemetery was very large and representative and a fitting tribute to her memory. A large number of Mass Cards were received. Chief mourners were :- John, William, Richard, Joseph, Francis, ( sons ); Mrs Harvey, Mrs Tyrell, ( daughters ), Liam, Sean, Colm O'Neill, ; Billie, Johnny, Aidan, Brendan, Oliver, and Conleth Ellis, Henry Harvey, ( grandsons ), James Coady, Nephew;
