    3. Hi Maggie I must seem so rude. I thought I replied to your email in March but somehow it just sat in my email without going. I just discovered it when looking for another message which didn't go out. I'm not sure what goes wrong with my email sometimes. So this is what I thought I sent you in March. Best of luck with your research. Tom unsent text: You're welcome Maggie. I just wish I had uncovered your Adams/Feltus connection. I've gathered all the Feltus references that I can find online but I'm still hoping there may be some more to find in registers at the Church of Ireland library or in a Will or land lease memorial. Possibly there are already some others known to other people out there who may now submit them to me. The whole idea of my site is to gather the known references together on one site as a resource for other researchers and hopefully to attract contributions from other like-minded researchers. You have a strong case for a Feltus marriage in your past but there is still the possibility that the name may just have been used to honor a prominent leader in their community. Adam Bloomfield Feltus would have been a powerful and influential figure in Carlow from 1800 to 1849, especially in the Bagenalstown/Dunleckney area and East over to the Myshall region. He was a county magistrate, held thousands of acres of land, had hundreds of tenants and commanded his own body of armed men to enforce the law. It was not unheard of to name a child after such a figure with the hope that it might benefit the family somewhere down the line. Still with the repeated use of the name Feltus in subsequent generations your chances are good that there was such a marriage. In my own line Joseph Bowles married Jane Feltus in Carlow in 1808 and didn't name any of their children Feltus but their son Joseph baptized his eldest son James Feltus Bowles in 1853. We'll both keep digging and your link may come up yet.
