    3. Dear Pat, Wow! 103 years of age was pretty sporting in 1900. I wonder whether Philip's longevity is down to the oysters of his early life? Born in September 1796, but whether in Ireland or Canada? His parents must surely have been of Irish Stock. There is a contemporary brewery and pub on PEI which is called Gahan House . Most of the Irish Gahans seem centred around Carlow and Kilkenny.
