Hi Turtle, Thanks for your reply. I was testing an Imaginative hypothesis just in case there was any substance to my idea that Edmund Gardiner had a patron. I've had a look at my notes from the Lisnevagh Estate papers on his letter to Captain McClintock Bunbury, and wonder if I could ask a favour. I have no copy of what appear to be two letters, both at G/4/16 in the Estate papers, just rough notes, as I had no digital camera in 2003. I wonder if, next time you are looking at the estate papers, it would be possible to photograph those letters and send me a Jpeg ? My email address is kayecole@optusnet.com.au . I'm not in any hurry as I'm busy trying to reconstruct Edmund's naval career in detail, which is fairly tricky. Thanks for any help you can give me Regards Kaye > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Message: 1 > Date: Wed, 16 Oct 2013 11:50:58 +0100 > From: "Turtle Bunbury (History)" <turtlehistory@gmail.com> > Subject: Re: [IRL-CARLOW] A question for Turtle > To: irl-carlow@rootsweb.com > Message-ID: <DA0AD57F-914F-4F40-A25D-7453116052DA@gmail.com> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii > > Hi Kaye, > > Thanks for this. > > The Niger was indeed a wretched affair but I'm afraid I am not sure who - > if any - of my forebears were Captain Fishbourne's patrons.
