    3. Nationalist, 17th April 1921. Carlow Young Men Sentenced. We are semi-officially informed that the twelve young men recently arrested in Carlow in connection with the blocking of roads and subsequently court-martialled have each been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment. Their names are Martin Byrne, John Williams, Martin Condren, John Cullen, John Fitzgerald, James Mooney, Michael Leonard, Joseph Kenny, Laurence Shaw, James Foley, Thomas Sheehan, and P.Doolan. On Wednesday night the following houses in Carlow were visited and searched by Crown forces accompanied by two women searchers : Mr. John Murphy's, Dublin Road ; the Old College known as the "Wash House" in Brown Street; Mr.J. Reddy's, Athy Street; Mr. John Ryan's, Charlotte Street. The officers in charge were courteous. The Partnership that has hitherto existed between Thomas Richards and William Muhall, Seed Merchants, No. 1 Tullow Street, Carlow. has been voluntarily dissolved and the said business will in future be carried on by William Mulhall. Thomas Richards will be responsible for all debts of the firm to date.
