Nationalist, May 1921. Death Warning. On Saturday evening last two masked and armed men called at the residence of Mr. W.P. Morrow, at Newtown , Co. Carlow, Master, Carlow Union, (The Workhouse ), and delivered a notice to Mr. Morrow's young daughter to the effect that unless he ceased his activities in local land agitation, he would be shot. The note was signed "Anti-Sinn Fein" and below was the legend "God Save the King". [ note added 2010. not sure why but my 2010 hunch is that the above message was left by members of the I.R.A. stirring it up !]
