I'm also interested in the Rathvilly church registers for St. Patrick's church...but for the years 1844- 1846. I believe my GG-grandfather Thomas Nolan/Nowlan was baptised there in October 1846 and am looking for confirmation of that. I'm also trying to determine if his parents were married and if so, where. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tony To: irl-carlow@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, March 01, 2010 9:46 AM Subject: [IRL-CARLOW] FAO Michael Purcell - re Rathvilly registers Hello Michael P, my particular interest is in Rathvilly registers and I was hoping my g-g-grandparents' baptisms / marriage may have been in them. The LDS film of the registers is virtually unreadable and so I went to Dublin to look at the filmed copy there. This too had parts which were unreadable, mainly baptisms for years 1823-1825 & 1828-1832, but there were other pages that were difficult to read.. I know you managed to obtain copies of some years of the registers and recently made available for transcription baptisms for years 1828-1832. Is there any chance that further years of the registers may be copied to make transcripts available, or is that avenue now closed and did you get these copies direct from the church? If this is something that you currently may not have the time for, perhaps you could explain if anyone could approach the church for copies or did they only allow you access because of your background in genealogy and also your local standing of fine repute? Thanks for your time Michael. Regards, Tony. ======================================= Before you post a message to the IRL-CARLOW mailing list you must subscribe to the List.
