Mick, You may recall my posting of the will for a Thomas Nolan of Ballon who died in 1832. The executor of that will was a "Rev. Peter Nolan" and it looks as if he may have been the same one who was receiving the professions of faith given in your posting below. I know someone on the list tried to find out more about him when I posted the will but there he is again in the records for the Carlow RC cathedral: "Rev. Peter Nolan". Any thoughts as to who he might have been? Another thought which crossed my mind in relation to your posting is that perhaps some of the converts identified here may have been former Quakers. I know that in the Ballon-Myshall area (with Quaker meeting house on the Kilconnor townland) many Quakers converted to Catholicism.
