    3. Hi Mick and list This one may be a mixed marriage. William Bowles was indeed Protestant but this only makes sense if Sarah Moore was Catholic. Their son Robert was not only baptized at the Catholic church on June 25, 1773 he was also baptized at St. Mary's Carlow (C of I) just 5 days earlier. Also, Robert was raised Catholic but later married a Quaker, Anne Waring, the widow of Thomas Baker of Ballickmoyler. Do any of the other known Protestant entries which you saw, look like mixed marriages? That has been my theory on this one anyway.
