    1. Re: [IRL-CARLOW] Fw: Carlow church records
    2. I think it's important to put stock in what Michael says regarding the error rate on these transcriptions. I compared the print out of computer transcriptions for Kavanaghs from Borris and St Mullins Parish to some that were done by hand and noted several omissions even for my own family ( and some in other Kavanagh families as well). If the information is there it will be helpful but there could be false negatives. I'm not certain about the details contained (i.e. locations/dates, parents names) although I will say with my family the baptisms that were present were correct. This is not to disparage, in any way, the availability of the information but my experience is that there are some omissions so there could still be the necessity to review the microfilms yourself. I heard from another source that it is all of County Carlow Gary Cavanaugh In a message dated 5/17/2010 3:17:00 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, kavanagh@99webstreet.com writes: Thank you, Michael. 1. [IRL-CARLOW] errors in transcribed records
    2. Sharon Kavanagh
    3. Yes, it is important to remember that transcribed records contain errors. I will be looking to confirm some Carlow records and I will also be looking for some I've never before found. Those records new to me I will try to confirm in person. And thanks for the reminder, too, that it's not only false positive transcriptions but the fact that records which do exist can also be missing (omitted) from transcriptions.
