These records are a great resource, as I've used them before for my Westmeath ancestors. Many of these records are also available on microfilm from the Latter Day Saints (Mormon Church) and can be ordered for a minimal fee from a local LDS Family history Center if you have one nearby. The index number for the proper film from the LDS can be searched on their site www.familysearch.org -----Original Message----- From: irl-carlow-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:irl-carlow-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Michael Brennan Sent: Sunday, May 09, 2010 5:04 AM To: irl-carlow@rootsweb.com Subject: [IRL-CARLOW] Royal Hospital Chelsea Soldiers Service records Over the past few months Terry Curran has been very busy putting together a record of the Royal Hospital Chelsea Soldiers Service records of Carlow Soldiers who claimed a pension after discharge from the British Army.  Dates vary from the 1700's to the 1900's. These records show the age of the soldier (if known) on discharge and the the year/s of service (if known) and the regiments served in.  He also provides a URL link if you want to purchase the full record from the National Archives at Kew, England. ======================================= Before you post a message to the IRL-CARLOW mailing list you must subscribe to the List.
