    2. Roger I did not want to prejudice the answer by suggesting Canada. It was my first instinct. This man was born in 1835. I am unsure that he was a soldier of any kind. As a matter of fact I know very little about him. He died in Boston in 1868 in dire poverty I would suspect. I had originally thought he might have come to New Hampshire from Ireland through Canada (as a route); not that he would have considered himself a Canadian. It's a whole new world of thinking for me and I am not sure how to proceed. Dee In a message dated 1/28/2010 10:21:56 P.M. If I recall correctly there were disbanded soldiers who were given land in Victoria county, New Brunswick. If I also recall correctly there also even villages named Carlow and Wicklow in the area. Just a thought! 3. Dee, If Thomas was born in 1835 and went to Victoria county, New Brunswick, his name might appear in the 1851 and/or 1861 census for New Brunswick, or an early census for Maine. Lumbering people moved freely across the border at the time.
