I have been avidly reading the excellent historical content on this list for the last few months. Very fascinating reading and finally a Boles reference! Alexander Boles married Susan Pearson. 19th June 1894 Lisdrumgran. Father: James Boles Lisdrumgran seems to be in Leitrim???? Strange they are in a Carlow register. This is a somewhat local Boles though as this Alexander Boles lived near Abbeyleix where two children were born in 1898 (Evelyn) and 1900 (Herbert). The 1901 census has him at Knocknagrally or Kilkennybeg, Aghmacart parish. The 1911 Census has them still at the same place and has Alexander born in Leitrim and Susan born in Queen's county. They had four children living then and I found a 5th child of theirs in Tipperary in the 1911 census. The August 1920 edition of The Nationalist has a sale notice for Mr. Alexander Boles' residence at Levally Farm, Rathdowney, Queen's county. I lost track of them after that but they aren't my Bowles from Carlow and Ballickmoyler anyway just a near miss from county Leitrim. Very interesting in any case and it adds to my knowledge the actual townland in Leitrim where Alexander came from and that his father's name was James.
