    3. The Carlow Sentinel, October 1847. Sudden death of a soldier. One of the soldiers of the 3rd Buffs, quartered in this town, while dancing in a public house, belonging to a man named Parkes, in Coal-market, on Tuesday evening last, suddenly dropped on the floor, and on raising him it was found that life was extinct. The young man was about twenty four years of age, apparently strong and healthy, but had dissipated habits.

    3. Reverend Michael Rafter was the Dean of Carlow College in 1824 Whilst helping one of my listers - I came across above man but does anyone know anything of this man Michael Norton of Castle Street listed as a publican in 1824. I feel he may be the first link to the Michael Norton I am seeking and of coures like all research there is a BUT - but were there more than one Michael Norton? So if anyone can answer that for me I dont need a Griffiths search though as I cant come that far forward yet with this man. Cara
