Greetings all, It's been years since I've tried to go forward with these surnames in Carlow. Our Mary Hennessey created a needlework marked "Leighlin Bridge School - 1847 - aged 12". She brought it to New York where it survived and was framed in 1904 and today hangs in that original framing. We believe her mother was Mary Brohan/Broughan married to a James or John Hennessy and this elder Mary had two sisters at least - Ann and Catherine. They all eventually immigated to New York City where the younger Mary was married to Michael Connor. There is no mention of townland on the headstones for these people in New York but one death certificate indicates Carlow as the birthplace which, with the needlepoint, has been our only clues. There are very few instances of the name Hennessy being researched on this list and I wanted to put this message in the archive in case it would be found at a later date. This is a marvelous list with all the contributors and all who help others - I will continue to lurk and read and learn. Best wishes to all, Donna
