    3. For what it is worth, the area around Albany, New York is thick with generations upon generations of Irish immigrants. When I visited one of my daughters near there a few years ago, I was amazed at the echoing of names of Irish townlands and such. Sharon Sharon Oddie Brown Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. 3. If someone came into Canada from Europe, I would guess that they most likely sailed into Halifax, Nova Scotia. As far as Albany, Canada - A quick Google search brought up: *Albany, Ontario. (Albany Island and Fort Albany are in proximity) *Albany, PEI (Prince Edward Island) (This is West and somewhat North of Victoria) There are probably more...there are a bunch in the US, too. I assume from your post that the certificate you have (of Marriage) is Australian? Is it possible that instead of Albany, Canada, it is a poorly written "Alberta?" Check out the online provincial vital statistics records - PEI has baptisms online. Ontario's records are so-so. If you are lucky enough to have kin in Nova Scotia - their records are terrific.
