    3. My Holdens come from the Old Leighlin area of County Carlow. My great grandmother was BridgetHolden, the eldest child of John Holden and Mary Lynch of the townland of Lackan. The other children of the marriage (after Bridget) were in order of birth: Ellen (b.1833), Catherine (b.1836), Patrick (b.1838), Martin (b.1842), William (b. 1845), Mary (b.1849), and John (b. 1851). Given the gaps between some of the children there may have been others. Bridget Holden came to Sydney, Australia as an assisted immigrant in October 1854 and married Thomas Walsh from County Limerick in Maitland NSW in 1857. They had nine children - Mary, John, Thomas, Ellen, Margaret, William Patrick, Catherine, Bridget and James. Looking for Bridget's parents and siblings who all disappeared from the Old Leighlin area around 1870. Bill Junor Sydney
