Brenda, You should note that Simon's first child, namely Jeremiah, would also be called "Darby" in Co. Carlow pointing to Simon's father possibly being a Darby Nowlan. All their children were born in US, first one Jeremiah, born PA, then John, PA, then Michael, born Ohio.....That's all I have. No females that I know of....must have walked on water, as I never found HOW they got to United States. Both Simon and Margaret died in Kansas.. Interesting Roger. In all the tracking of Simon and family, I have never found much. I have obit for Jeremiah and death record. It states his name as Jeremiah P. Nowlan.. First I had ever seen the middle initial. John I have death info and all of his family. Michael is my link to the family, but he died before death records, but do have pics of his stone and all his children. Darby is new information to me. Simon was a Iowa "Greybeard" in the Civil War. Was an old man then, and got a medical discharge. He died in 1868. Thank you, Brenda By the way, there was a Simon Nowlan that was in Canada, but none of his life fits my line at all. --- On Sun, 7/4/10, Roger Nowlan <rnowlan@primus.ca> wrote: From: Roger Nowlan <rnowlan@primus.ca> Subject: Re: [IRL-CARLOW] rollcall - SIMON NOWLAN To: irl-carlow@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, July 4, 2010, 8:21 PM Brenda, You should note that Simon's first child, namely Jeremiah, would also be called "Darby" in Co.
