I have a John Bulger, born c. 1816 brother to William of Green Lane and father to John, Anna, Lucy, and Edward, all born in the 1840s (definitely Carlow for John Jr. probably Carlow for the others but no proof) . Wife's name was likely Mary (maiden name unknown) . The family emigrated to Philadelphia, PA. A second Edward (my ggrandfather) was born to this same John in 1861 in Ireland, after the family had already moved . John placed an ad in the Phila. Inquirer on March 27, 1866 searching for his original four children in Phila. and his brother in Carlow (but not his wife). A widower who remarried, perhaps? I know my younger Edward is brother to John, Anna, and Lucy, as I have family letters and documents. Could John Sr. have placed the same search ad in a Carlow newspaper? Any way to find out? I have found some Bulgers on the Griffith's valuation in Carlow but no way to tell if they are mine. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Bethanne
