Donna, I have seen the Broughan name spelled "Brogan" in early Quebec records. There was a Thomas Brogan married to a Margaret Nowlan in Quebec city in 1825. I also know that a James Broughan married a Diana Nolan in Bagenalstown on 15-0Nov-1831. Diana was the daughter of John Nowlan of Ballybrummel and Mary Conroy. James and Diana had a son named Edward that we know of.
