Looking for info on John Nolan who married Mary Connor probably sometime in the 1840's and probably in the Ballon area. Known children were: Mary, Julia, John, William, James, Michael. There were most likely other children but I haven't found them yet. Mary Connor died in Ireland and John along with the above children all went to upstate NY between 1876 and 1900. Mary, It's been a long time. Your most recent posting clicked with a recent observation. Someone I corresponded with related that a John Nolan, a widower and farmer of Killane, died November 9, 1870, aged 76. I can't provide the source just now but ths would seem to relate to a John Nolan who was at the southern end of the Kilknock townland next to the Killane townland in 1851, along the road leading down from the Kilknock crossroad. I know that these Nolans married into the Connor family so this may be your ancestor. I will have to look deeper at what I have. You can Email me directly. There should also be a death certificate available for this John Nolan.
