Maurice, What makes you think that Comen might have originally been Coleman? I have never seen these two names substitute for each other. Doesn't mean it can't happen... I just haven't seen it, and wonder if you have a reason that I might find useful for my own research. The only reason I have is an old note from prior research that suggests Coleman and Coalman as likely possibilities.
