    2. ken, i have a friend on facebook called Michael Craden - I posted a photograph of my relatives on the Graiguecullen site and he got in touch to say one of the girls in the photo was his mother Fanny James. They had a big house in Graiguecullen so you may want to contact him - he is extremely interested in his family tree and he lives in England. I hope this will be of some help to you Ken. I hope they are the James family that you are looking for - take care. 2. Sue Clement
    3. Definitely true, Karen - I have run into the same situation myself. ~Sue -----Original Message----- Subject: [IRL-CARLOW] Coman and Conran Maurice,Sorry to add to the confusion re your COMAN ancestors, but do consider this as well:In researching my Conran ancestors, I've seen Conran and Conron incorrectly transcribed as Coman and Comon! There are plenty of these errors on the Ancestry website alone....A lower case "n" next to an "r" can be easily mistaken for an "m" in old handwriting, if the writer has completed the "r" with a vertical rather than a horizontal stroke, and especially if such an "r" is very close to the "n" that precedes it. I've faced this challenge myself while transcribing from microfilmed parish records; on a few occasions, it has been very hard to decide whether I'm looking at Conran or Coman... In this case, I have enlarged the image as much as possible and made sure the other names/dates/places listed in the entry are consistent with those I already know/suspect are correct. Not suggesting that your Comans are Conrans - just alerting you to the visual similarity of the two surnames and p! ossibility of errors.Karen.
