Would there have been more than one institution or school for the deaf and dumb in Belfast shortly before 1900? My late grandfather worked there as a young teen-ager before coming to Canada. He lived in Montreal, Quebec and never learned to speak French. He always remembered, though, quite a bit of the sign language he learned while working at the school. John Kennedy > 1.
