Marie, I have a photocopy of a Belfast map 1822, and it looks like Patrick Street runs from James Street to intersection of Edward St and Nelson St. The old St Annes Church is close by as is York St and Corporation St. I have also some notes from an old book(1894), which included, ' Belfast Fifty Years Ago', a lecture by Thomas Gaffikin, J.P(1874). there was an appendix which give details of the population of Belfast, taken either in 1822 or 1823. I ma not sure of the exact title etc, but the appendix give the following information: SOUTH DISTRICT: .. Hammonds Court. 5 Houses, 22 Males, 26 females. NORTH DISTRICT: Patrick Street: 54 houses, 120 males, 161 females. I know its not exactly what you wanted but thought it might be of interest to you. Brian . Hello Brian, are some of these streets from around the docks? My great grandparents (Beatty's/Beatties) lived at 135 Corporation St. , I have "Belfast An Illustrated History" by Jonathan Barton. You probably can get it from the library to check out, but you may already have it. By 1800 the population of Belfast was 20,000. It really grew rapidly due to the cotton industry. What is the title of the book you mentioned?
