Hello all, I am hoping someone may have some minor little bit of information that could help me break down my stubborn brick wall. With my lack of knowledge of Belfast and the surrounding area I may be asking for impossible help or assistance but if questions not asked, answers never found, they say. My grandfather was born John Alexander PAGE Nov 9 1883 and registered in Belfast. His father was Joseph PAGE (railway porter)and mother Margaret PATTERSON. I then was able to obtain this information from 22 April 1878 Joymount Church Joseph Page was a bachelor, over 21, resident at Waringstown, Co. Down, son of William Page, weaver, and Margaret Patterson was a spinster, over 21, resident at Castle Dobbs, Carrickfergus, dau. of John Patterson, labourer. Witnesses were John and Ellen Jane Patterson. then a marriage which may be that of Joseph's father. 8 August 1854 - Banbridge Registry Office: William Page, bachelor, over 21, weaver, Mullabrack, son of Thomas Page, farmer, married Martha Geddis, spinster, over 21, weaver, Mullabrack, daughter of Samuel Geddis, farmer. I also came across the marriages of an Alexander Page son of Thomas to Mary McGlade 12/1/1850 (Tullylish Church of Ireland) and of a Joseph Page son of Thomas to Margaret Sands 23/4/1852 (Tullylish Church or Ireland). Perhaps ALexander and Joseph were brothers to William. I would really like to find any of these persons in the 1901 census particularily Joseph, Margaret and John A. but other than Templepatrick where we were told he was born or Whiteabbey which shows on his registration I have no idea how to search the 1901 census. Is there anyway to search by surname like we can here in Canada? I am more than willing to return any assistance with research in Ontario.
