    3. To All, It certainly pays to belong to a mailing list. Andy and I have managed to connect because he has always offered what he has to all members of the list. Even though we first began discussing our Boyd line in 2001, we never came up with a connection until Andy offered us a copy of the WW1 Memorial plaque in St. Paul's Cathedral in Belfast. I asked Andy for a copy offline because I was searching for my grandmother's brother, William Boyd, who died in WW1. Andy was also searching for a William Boyd who died in the war. The Commonwealth Graves Commission lists one William and one William James as does the Memorial Plaque. It turns out that not only were the Williams' Royal Irish Rifles numbers only one digit apart, they died one day apart. All of this got us e-mailing each other again looking for a link. One piece of info that Andy sent was that the wife of his gg grandfather's brother, William, was Agnes McKavna/McKavanagh/McCavanagh. What do you know, these were my gg grandparents! Andy knew the name of James's mother, and I knew the name of William's father and now we have a complete set of ggg grandparents ( but like most records we are missing the maiden name of our ggg grandmother!) And that is the latest part of our Belfast story - but it would not have happened if Andy had not so generously contributed to the Belfast mailing list.
