    1. RE: [BELFAST] Moore-Belfast and Dundonald,Ayr - TROON
    2. R L Young
    3. Hi Following this thread, I have an interest in County Down particularly the Ards. However many folk moved to Belfast hence my interest in this list. I also have a big interest in Troon and the connections with the North of Ireland which recur time after time. In case anyone is not aware, Dundonald, below is actually TROON. Troon being in the Parish of Dundonald and surpassed Dundonald in importance in the early 1800's. Dundonald is C5 miles away and of course being of major Scottish importance in the Middle ages. I have photographed all the Gravestones in Troon cemetery as well as Crosbie around 4000. I do have connections to the Moores around Portavogie. This begins with Joseph Holland b 1839/40 d 1900 . He had 12 children. His 11th child is Mable Holland , b 1881, who married John Pollock. This is the connection: Joseph married Mary Ann Anderson 1857. This is the only marriage that has been documented for Joseph. The LDS, Mormon Church website gives Mable Holland as daughter of Joseph Holland and Mary Ann Moore. It also gives a Mary Ann McCluskey as the mother of children and Mary Ann Anderson also. All w/o Joseph Holland. All the children that Joseph Holland had I can document as connected to him as they are either buried with him at Belfast City Cemetery or have children buried with him. The other interesting fact is that when Mary Ann ??Holland died she is buried at DunDonald cemetery with daughter Ada and Mable along with the husband of Mable, John Pollock. It is said that Mary Ann Holland challenged the will of Joseph when he died 1900, without mind or memory, soft brain disease for her daughter Mable. This makes me think that she was the mother of Mable and Ada who are both buried with her. The other children of Joseph are buried with him at Belfast City Cemetery. There is room in Belfast for them to be buried. Mable was living on Albert Bridge Rd. when she died. Her death listing gives her as the daughter of Joseph Holland, Artist and Mary Ann Moore. What?????????????/if any connection might there be with your interest Shirley [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Telford-Bailie" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 08, 2005 6:55 AM Subject: [BELFAST] Moore-Belfast and Dundonald,Ayr > Hi List > > A few details on Moore seem to be surfacing recently, so thought I would add > my two penneth. > > 1871 census for Temple Hill, Dundonald, Ayrshire also for *1891 > Patrick Moore* 44 yr.
