Hello all - -This is my first posting and I believe that it's an exercise in futility but here goes: According to family lore my g-g-gf Michael WALSH was from Belfast. He married Bridget CALLAHAN, origin unknown. It is not known if they married in Ireland or USA. It is not known when or from where they emigrated----ships lists from the early 1850s have many, many Michael Walshes, no way to pick one and say "he is mine"!. They settled near Wilmington Delaware (Claymont/Talleyville?) and produced the following daughters: Anna b5-2-7-1855, Sarah b2-14-1857, Margaret b6-26-1862. All were baptized at St. Joseph's on the Brandywine R. C. church. There may have been more children, but if so, I am not aware of them. I have not found them in census or tax rolls or death records. Church records produce no more information than the baptisms above. I have several wills with these parents' names and daughters with same names, but there also many more children named in the wills (lotsa boys, always with a Patrick, a Michael, etc!) but my family lore only names the three daughters ---- Margaret is my ancestor. Walsh/Callahan unions are so numerous I have no way to pick out one couple to pursue, and I am wondering if there may be ancestors still in Belfast who recognize my great great parents as described above as to location, progeny, etc, who might produce a clue for further search. If so, I will be eternally grateful !!!!! DORI in So Calif, USA
