" Samuel Mawhinney's father was a John Mawhinney (deceased) at the time of marriage. Jane Brennan's father was a James Brennan" I have a gr.gr. grandfather, John Mawhinney, but he was from Magherafelt, Co. Londonderry. My gr. grandfather, Wm. John Crawford married his daughter, Jane Mawhinney in Magherafelt, 22 Nov1861. Several of their children were born there, but they ended up in Larne, where three of the Crawford daughters m. three Snoddy brothers. I know there were both Mawhinneys and Crawfords in both Larne and Magherafelt, so have no idea if they were related or where Wm. John was born, in Magherafelt same as Jane or down in Larne.
