Hi List, I wonder if sks could tell me about St Peter Catholic Chapel in Belfast, from about the time of 1895 where I have a marriage of my ggrandparents, Thomas McALISTER and Jane MURPHY. Would the Chapel of the time now be the Catholic Church of today? The only other reference I have was that it was in the Registrar's District of Belfast No 6. Kind regards, Michael McAllister
St Peter's Catholic church in Belfast has been for many years the pro- Cathedral for the Diocese of Down & Connor. Lots of interesting information about it can be found at the following link: http://www.stpeterscathedralbelfast.com/ Best wishes Rosemary Henderson -----Original Message----- From: Michael McAllister [mailto:mcallisterfamily@btopenworld.com] Sent: 31 July 2007 15:56 To: Belfast List Subject: [BELFAST] Marriage in Belfast - McALLISTER-MURPHY Hi List, I wonder if sks could tell me about St Peter Catholic Chapel in Belfast, from about the time of 1895 where I have a marriage of my ggrandparents, Thomas McALISTER and Jane MURPHY. Hi Rosemary, many thanks for your help. I did some searching myself after I posted this mail to this List and noticed the website. An interesting site and actually confirmed the priest that conducted the marriage ceremony of my great grandparents. It is also within 'spitting distance' of their two homes at teh time of the marriage. Thanks again, kind regards, Micheal ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rosemary Henderson" <rj.henderson@ntlworld.com> To: <irl-belfast-city@rootsweb.com>; "'Belfast List'" <IRL-BELFAST-CITY-D@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 01, 2007 1:41 PM Subject: Re: [BELFAST] Marriage in Belfast - McALLISTER-MURPHY > St Peter's Catholic church in Belfast has been for many years the > pro- Cathedral for the Diocese of Down & Connor.
