Dana, You can view the 1901 and 1911 census for Belfast in Dublin at the National Archives. The census is not indexed by surname - so you need to know which streets you want to look at. Jean and I both have search engines on our sites, so, you can use those to check your surname. Belfast directories - then you need to pay a visit to the National Library. You need to have your passport with you when you visiti the NAI or NLI in orer to get a readers ticket - and best to have a passport sized photo for the NLI, unless you wil only be there for one day - then you'll probably get a day pass. You'll also be able to get photocopies of any BMD (CIVIL not parish) records for Belfast pre 1922 at the GRO in Dublin. Roman Catholic parish records - the National Library - NLI Chuirch of Ireland records - the NAtional Archives NAI or else the Chrurch Representative Body Library in Churchtown. Pre 1922 - outside of estate records, you'll probably find most of what is in Belfast in Dublin - somewhere. Where would be the best place in Dublin to go through Belfast City Directories (possibly some for Glasgow) say 1890 to 1940? If viewing these records proves to be problematic, I might be able to swing a day trip to Belfast. But staying in Dublin would be ideal. I'm looking for Belfast records (Falls Road area).
