Hello Can I respectfully point out that More on Troon. http://members.lycos.co.uk/troonexiles/troonexilesrecords.htm is nothing to do with Troon in Scotland, it is Troon in Cornwall nearly 600 miles away! My father was born in Troon and I have lots of County Down connections with Troon/Ards but also Belfast comes in. I am aware of many other connections too. Names like Young, Baillie, Mahood, Palmer, Hughes, McCappin, Malone, Milligan, Cassidy. I have a number of Moores in the Ards, but not aware of any in Troon yet, but more connections keep creeping out of the woodwork! My Website www.ladyisle.com deals with Troon and I can usually answer many questions either directly or through my contacts. [email protected] family history society is a useful body too.
