Hi everyone, greetings from Sydney, Australia. Does anyone have access to the records for St Anne's Church of Ireland cathedral in Belfast, or know how to obtain the records. I have two ancestors who married there in 1856 and I suspect their children would be baptised there also. Especially interested in William Hanna born about 1859 in Belfast. Regards Tony Smith

Hi List, thought I would try another way around my census requests! I know that names cannot be searched in either census and know that only addresses are able to be searched. This is the request please? When anyone is trawling through any Belfast census, either 1901 or 1911, and they happen upon completely by chance any Thomas McALLISTER married to a Jane, or indeed a child Thomas of theirs, of one-ish in the 1901 and 11-ish in the 1911, would they be nice and forward the details to me please. My grandfather Thomas, was born (I think) end of August in 1899, father Thomas, mother Jane, neƩ MURPHY religion unknown but presumed Catholic when living in Dublin. Ages also unknown as are any siblings. Thomas was born in Elmfield Street, Belfast (Urban 10?). Anyone any idea as the the local churches around this area of Elmfield Street? Any advice gratefully accepted! Kind regards, Michael McAllister

Seeking information on Harrington, Adrain, Cowden families of the Belfast City, and County Antrim and Down areas of the late 1700 early 1800's. George Harrington was married to Mary Adrain and had at least two sons George and James. George Sr. died sometime around 1815-1825. Mary married Henry Cowden. Mary, Henry and the two boys then immigrated to Baltimore Maryland in 1833. Mary's father was a James Adrain. Seeking any information about any of these persons, their, Ancestors, or siblings.
I live in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada and I am researching my Moore family. James (DOB 1851/52) and Robert (DOB 1853) Moore, both sons of Wilson Moore and Jane Hamilton, from Belfast vicinity, immigrated to Canada around 1876-1880. (There may be other siblings that I am not aware of.) Before emigrating, both men married Scottish women, in Glasgow. By 1881 both families are well established in Ontario and in every census they denote their nationality as Irish. pam Searching: MOORE HAMILTON CONNEL PATERSON WILSON MCCARTHY MARTIN TYSOM CLIFTON WEBB HARRIS
Adrienne, The McCormicks in my family tree are all available here: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SHOW&db=airriess_family&recno=1180 I had a number of McCormick relatives get married or baptized at St. Anne's. One was Sexton there from 1819-1844. I'll share all I have including photographs, certificates, etc. Andy
I am researching the surname of HUNTER, MOLYNEUX, SMYTH and JOHNSTON - mainly in Belfast. I have been doing so for the past 10 years with limited success for this area of the world. I live in Sydney, Australia. Regards. Maureen
Hi Wal, I'm not sure if this is a relative of yours but my aunt married a Samuel Smythe in around 1940 in Belfast (possibly in St Annes cathedral). Unfortunately she wont tell me anything about my McCormack side of the family wishing the past to be the past. However, her daughter is a Mrs. Shirley McCutcheon, 4 Silver Birch Gardens, Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland, BT19 6ES. She wont tell me anything about the McCormick side either (I think there could be a skeleton rattling somewhere) but she may be she will be interested in hearing from Australia about any possible links to her father. Not at all complete as far as my families are concerned - can't find a single individual. It depends on the areas they lived. I think we'll just have to wait for you Canadians to do the job completely - only a year or two to wait!
