I would like to wish all members of the list a very happy New Year and let's hope we can make some connection with our interests in 2008. Hoping to make contact with someone researching the following Hunter family. Joseph Molyneux HUNTER married Ann Jane JOHNSTON in Belfast in 1863. They had the following children: William Macready HUNTER (1864) married Mary Ann TEMPLETON (daughter of Robert Templeton and Rose Ann McConachie) – the couple went to live in the US. Mary Ann Molyneux HUNTER (1866) married George GILBRAITH. Margaret HUNTER (1868) married William ANDERSON Charlotte Jemima HUNTER (1873) married Robert James Templeton (son of Robert Templeton and Rose Wilson) – the couple went to live in the US. Joseph Molyneux HUNTER (1875) married Rose MONIGHAN. Matthew Henry HUNTER (1877) married Mary SMYTH Alexander Fair HUNTER (1881) married a Catherine Robert Bashford HUNTER (1883) married Agnes GILLESPIE Fanny Molyneux HUNTER (1888). Recently from descendants of the above that went to live in the US from her personal notes handed down I have been able to find out spouses names. My line is from HUNTER/MOLYNEUX/SMYTH and I have no knowledge in relation to other surnames but thought there may be a connection to someone on the list who is researching any of the above.. The Hunters originated in Co Down probably of Scots-Irish descent. Maureen Sydney, Australia > > > > > >
Hi Andy and list I see on your roll call, you mention McCormicks. I believe I have my great uncle Robert Bailey marrying an Annie McCormick 24th April 1905 at the Albert Bridge Congregational Church. Belfast, three daughters, they all lived at 13 St Kilda Street, Belfast. Robert died WWI!, Annie stayed at the family home until around 1925, when she moved to Mount Street. Does this mean anything to you? , have yet to do more searching on this side of the family. Regards Richard On the Isle of Wight
I have an Elizabeth (Lizzie) Cully who married Paddy (Patrick) SMYTH in 1907 in St. Peter's R.C. Church, Belfast. They had daughters Alice, Queenie and May. Any link? Hi Denise, I have had loads of problems with tracking my Magee family and have managed to get back to 1860s. I dont have my records at hand but dont think I will be able to link up with yours at this moment in time. As you have dates of death, have you looked at any obits or death notices which might have been placed in papers? Sometimes you can glean a bit more inofrmation from them. Keep me posted with what you find as one never knows where links are to be found. Best wishes Brian Magaoidh http://ulster.failteromhat.com/ --------------------------------- Sent from Yahoo! - a smarter inbox.

Hull Hare Culloden Pinkerton McKee Beddy Rogers Lowther Here's hoping for a connection ? Regards from Valerie in sunny Sydney. Researching: BEDDY, CULLODEN, DYAS and ROWAN in Belfast, Dublin, Wicklow & Wexford GOON member No: 4825 for CULLODEN & HIGGINSON
My ggrandmother was Isabella McGee/Magee. From her Death Certificate in San Francisco her birth year was about 1867. I know she was protestant. I really haven't much on her, except I know she left Belfast about 1885 and ended up in Rochester New York through Canada, as a servant. I know she had a brother William that also immigrated, and have found his death certificate in Sacramento, California. His DC listed his birth year as June, 1872. Because of that I think the following entries from the British Isles Vital Records are my Isabella and her brother William. I am a bit perplexed as Isabellas DC had her father listed as 'John', but I now know that that could be suspect depending on who relayed the information. I am more that sure the following is my Isabella and her brother William. MAGEE, Isabella Birth Gender: Female Birth Date: 2 Aug 1870 Birthplace: 112, Ballymena, Ant, Ire Recorded in: Antrim, Ireland Collection: Civil Registration Father: William MAGEE Mother: Sarah DOLLAS Source: FHL Film 101210 Dates: 1870 - 1871 MAGEE, William Birth Gender: Male Birth Date: 28 Jun 1872 Birthplace: Ballymena, Ant, Ire. Recorded in: Antrim, Ireland Collection: Civil Registration Father: William MAGEE Mother: Sarah DOLLAS Source: FHL Film 255848 Dates: 1872 - 1873 I know William worked for the railroad in Sacramento and married a Sarah '?' also from Ireland. They had at least nine children. Isabella met and married my ggrandfather Edward Payne in Montana, from ? and somehow moved to San Francisco, where they had their children. Thank you for any insight.
