Hi again everyone I've replied to everyone personally for their informative replies to my posting - just in case I've missed anyone out a very big THANKYOU. Does any lister have any ideas why the copy of the 1841 census I have in my possession only lists my ggg grandmother Ellen McFerran aged 2 & her parents Francis & Ellen. It shows an x under all the other family members & their details. The census record was ordered in 1910 & I realise I'm really lucky to have it! I can't understand why a copy of a census return was sent for - could it be used as proof of identity? Any suggestions gratefully received Kind regards Maureen
