Oh Charles, I am so glad to hear from you - especially as you are a Clark!! My Robert Stevenson was born 1798 to John Stevenson and Mary Rankin. Other children were William Clatworthy Stevenson, born c. 1800, Phillip and John. There was a sister Margaret. The children were all born near Galgorm/Ahogill, near Ballymena. But John came from somewhere else, as he wasn't listed in the parish registers as born or married there. (Perhaps Belfast area??) They were apparently neighbours in Ireland of the CLARKS and SLOANS, as the three families, together with Russells came to Canada in 1840's. Any links??
