Denise, Here is a link to the religious denominational statistics for Northern Ireland _http://cain.ulst.ac.uk/ni/religion.htm_ (http://cain.ulst.ac.uk/ni/religion.htm) The term Protestant is often used for all those Christians who are not Catholic but, in the term 'Protestant, Catholic and Dissenter', Protestant usually means a member of the episcopalian Church of Ireland. In the Griffith's Valuations 1848-1864 O'Loan, O'Loan and O'Lone are mostly to be found in Co Antrim. Loan is most common in Co Londonderry with some in Cos Tyrone and Antrim. Loane is more commonly found in Fermanagh and Cork but exists in the already named counties. Lone is most common in Co Tyrone. Regards Nevin
